Pat: Patrick Hord is the CEO of the families various business units and is the 3rd generation to operate our family farm.

Professionally he serves on the board of directors for Farmers Citizens Bank, serves on several advisory committees for non-profit organizations, is the treasurer of his children’s school PTF, and has received his State FFA Degree. Personally, he is an active member of the Gospel Baptist Church where he is small group facilitator. He has been married to Janel for over 20 years and they have 4 children - Phillip, Colleen, Mallory, and Melissa.

Janel: Janel Hord, the fourth generation of her family to farm, married Patrick in 1988. 

While attending college classes, Janel worked alongside her husband in the farming operations.  Janel graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education from The Ohio State University.  She became fully involved in the family business in 1991.

Janel is a current member of the Demand Enhancement Board for the Ohio Pork Producers Council and a past member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau Board.  Along with many other community affairs, Janel organizes our Relay for Life Team and is the current Team Captain.  She is an active member of Gospel Baptist Church.  Janel and Patrick reside with their four children on their family farm near Bucyrus, Ohio.

 

Matt Davis: An employee of Hord Livestock since 1995, Matt oversees all swine production and finishing operations.

He previously held positions in sow units and finishing side of the farm. Prior to joining Hord Livestock, Matt worked on a swine operation in Northeast Ohio and attended Kent State University and Ohio State University pursuing a business degree. Matt served on the Ohio Pork Producers Council Board of Directors for 4 years and continues to serve on various committees. He was also the recipient of the inaugural Manger of the Year award from the OPPC.

Matt is a professional walleye fisherman and enjoys many outdoor activities as well as spending time with his wife, Robin, and daughter, Ashley.


 

Robin Davis: An employee of Hord Livestock since 2001, Robin holds the position of CFO and oversees the daily functions of the administrative department, including accounting, human resources, and safety.

Prior to joining Hord Livestock, she worked in public accounting and banking. Robin holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Kent State University and an MBA from Tiffin University. Robin also formerly served as President of Northland Homes and Properties. Robin participates in Relay for Life, coaches softball, enjoys traveling, golfing and other outdoor activities with family.

 

 

 

 

Rodney Rowlinson: An employee of Hord Livestock off and on since 1977, Rodney now oversees the daily functions of crop and farm maintenance, a position he’s held since 2001.

This includes harvesting of crops, manure application, and machine repair. Prior to accepting this position, Rodney was a farm hand for Hord Livestock, and worked at Ohio Power Company.

Rodney enjoys flying his Power Parachute and spending time with family-especially his two baby granddaughters.

 

 

 

Jay Shawk: An employee of Hord Livestock since 2002, Jay’s focus is market protection along with swine nutrition and ingredient procurement.

He also helps out with cost accounting and inventory control.  Jay holds an Associate’s Degree in Crop Production from ATI-OSU Wooster.  Prior to joining Hord Livestock, he was self-employed as a farmer, raising grain crops, beef cattle, and hogs.
Jay enjoys spending time with his wife, Erin, and sons, Thomas and Simon.  He also likes working on various home improvement projects.

Duane attended Holmes Liberty High School, where he graduated in 1963. He earned the rank of State Farmer in FFA. He served in the Ohio National Guard from 1964-1971. After high school, he worked at Swan Rubber and General Electric while farming part-time. Later in 1966, he began farming full time along with his father, Robert M. Hord.
 
In 1966, he married Inez Hord. After many years of hard work and dedication, the Company was incorporated as Hord Livestock in 1979. He was elected to serve on the Farmers Citizens Bank - Board of Directors that same year and became the Chairman of the Board in 1996 and continues in this capacity currently.

Today, Duane and Inez still continue to be active in the farming operation and enjoy spending time in the rolling hills of Wayne County at their second home.
