The cattle division of Hord Livestock strives to produce a high-quality, flavorful product while supporting our local economy, upholding the highest of standards in animal agriculture and acting as environmental stewards for future generations.  We are poised to create a new feeder calf marketing model for Ohio beef producers.   Purchasing calves from Ohio farms gives the cow/calf producers a new marketing option and ensures healthy cattle will move through our facility and into the food chain.  Cattle enter our facility between 650 and 800 pounds and are housed in barns to maintain high health and productivity until marketed at approximately 1350 pounds.  We feed locally grown grain and grain by-products and the forages we use are grown as a second crop utilizing nutrients from the hog manure.  The nutrient-rich cattle manure is then applied to farm ground to enrich the soil for future crops.
